Lanka Kand Part 5 | The Fall of Kumbhkaran

Ravana unleashes his most terrifying warrior. Kumbhkaran enters the battlefield and the war reaches a brutal turning point.

Hanuman Attack

Waiting for Hanuman

Midnight had already passed.

Ram sat beside Lakshman, still unconscious.

He kept waking him and speaking to him continuosly.

Ram blamed himself.

Everyone around Ram was silent.

Seeing Ram in such sorrow made the entire army heavy with grief.

Hanuman Returns

Then

Hanuman arrived.

Everyone stood up in relief.

Without wasting a moment, Sushen prepared the medicine.

The sacred herb worked quickly.

Within an hour, Lakshman slowly opened his eyes.

He spoke again.

The entire army erupted with joy.

Hanuman then returned the physician safely back to Lanka, just as he had brought him.

Ravana’s Anger

When Ravana heard that Lakshman had survived, his rage grew uncontrollable.

He went to wake the one warrior he had left.

Kumbhkaran.

Ravana tried many ways to wake him.

Finally, the giant opened his eyes.

The Giant Awakens

Kumbhkaran sat up.

He looked enormous.

A massive body.
Fat and powerful.
A terrifying demon face.

He looked at Ravana and asked:

Why do you look so uneasy?

Ravana told him everything.

About Sita.
About the war.
About the fallen warriors.

Kumbhkaran listened quietly.

Then sadness appeared on his face.

Why did you take Sita, brother?
Because of one mistake, so many have died.

He spoke honestly.

Even now you can stop this war.

But destiny had already moved too far.

Kumbhkaran sighed.

If this is fate, then I will fight until my last breath.

Ravana smiled.

Preparing the Monster

Ravana ordered a feast.

Buffalo.
Animals.
Food.
Drink.

Everything to prepare Kumbhkaran for war.

After eating enormous amounts of food, the giant stretched his body and walked alone toward the battlefield.

Brothers Meet

Before reaching the battlefield, Kumbhkaran met Vibhishan.

They hugged.

It was emotional.

Vibhishan explained why he had joined Ram.

Kumbhkaran nodded.

You used your brain.
You did the right thing.

Then they separated.

Vibhishan returned to Ram’s army and warned them.

Kumbhkaran is coming.

The Monster in Battle

The vanara army roared.

They picked up mountains, trees and stones.

But Kumbhkaran was unstoppable.

He smashed monkeys aside like toys.

Hanuman attacked.

One punch from Kumbhkaran knocked him down.

Nal and Neel tried.

They were thrown away.

Angad attacked with strategy.

Kumbhkaran crushed the attack and threw him aside.

He even grabbed Sugreev and held him under his arm.

Sugreev’s Revenge

When Hanuman regained consciousness, he began searching for Sugreev.

Meanwhile, Kumbhkaran thought Sugreev was dead and dropped him.

But Sugreev woke up.

In fury, he bit Kumbhkaran’s ear and nose.

The giant roared in pain.

He threw Sugreev far away.

But Sugreev quickly stood back up and returned to Ram.

The Slaughter

Monkeys tried everything.

Mountains.
Trees.
Rocks.

Nothing stopped Kumbhkaran.

He grabbed thousands of monkeys and ate them like snacks.

Others he crushed like ants.

The battlefield became chaos.

Seeing the opportunity, Ravana’s army attacked again.

Ram Steps Forward

Ram stepped forward.

Hold your ground.

He raised his bow.

Then came a storm of arrows.

Millions of arrows filled the sky like serpents.

Demons fell instantly.

Body parts flew through the air.

Within moments, the army behind Kumbhkaran was destroyed.

The Last Battle

Kumbhkaran saw the destruction behind him.

He roared in anger.

He lifted a mountain and threw it.

Ram pierced him with hundreds of arrows.

Blood poured from the giant's black body.

But still he fought.

Even wounded, he grabbed monkeys and crushed them.

Monkeys cried out to Ram for help.

The End of the Giant

Ram stepped forward again.

More arrows pierced Kumbhkaran.

The giant could barely stand.

In fury, he lifted a rock with his left hand.

Ram cut the hand off.

He tried with the right hand.

Ram cut that too.

Still Kumbhkaran did not fall.

He opened his mouth and rushed toward Ram.

Ram filled his mouth with arrows.

But the giant still stood.

Finally

Ram released a divine arrow.

The arrow sliced through the air.

Kumbhkaran’s head separated from his body.

The massive head rolled across the battlefield…

and fell near Ravana’s palace.

To be continued…

The war of Lanka had just taken its most brutal turn.
